To all the readers who are currently searching Google and Pinterest for ideas for the hard to shop for person in your life – look no further! Today I’m sharing an easy to create and FUN to receive gift that would be loved by any (over 18) person on your list! Learn how to create a DIY Lottery Ticket Cake with the New Jersey Lottery Holiday Games!

I’m happy to once again work with the New Jersey Lottery on a fun and easy project showcasing all their four Holiday themed Instant Games available for your gift giving season. Individual tickets make the perfect stocking stuffer or small gift for those on your list. Think crossing guards, bus drivers or teachers. Or, if you’re looking for a larger gift idea, consider making a Lottery Ticket Cake with more than one chance to win!

New Jersery Lottery Tickets are easy to obtain as they are found in tons of brick and mortar stores around the state, like Wawa or 7-11 or even kiosks at the mall.

Disclaimer: You must be 18 or older to buy a lottery ticket. The New Jersey Lottery reminds players, it’s only a game…remember to play responsibly. If you or someone you know has a gambling problem, call 1800-GAMBLER®. For more information, visit New Jersey Lottery.

And even if you don’t win the first time around, you have a second chance to win with their Million Dollar Replay! By entering $10 of eligible NJ Lottery non-winning Instant Tickets you can be entered into a drawing that could make you a millionaire!

This Lottery Ticket Cake came together pretty quickly! You will need:

  • New Jersey Lottery Tickets
  • Plastic Tub
  • Circular Metal Tray
  • Circular Foam Discs
  • Adhesives (I used Dotto – a temporary try adhesives for the tickets, a Foam dot for the penny, tape for the paper straw, and hot glue for the base)
  • Ribbons
  • Artificial flowers
  • Paper straw
  • Penny
  • Printable Tag (Download my free printable here)

First create your cake base. This cost effective approach was all courtesy of the dollar store! Turn the plastic tub upside down on the metal tin and use hot glue to adhere the lid in place. Next, use hot glue to adhere the foam discs in place on the bottom of the tub. I found these discs in the floral department.

Use temporary adhesive to adhere the lottery tickets around the plastic tub. Tip: Try to avoid adding the adhesive to the barcode.

Repeat to add lottery tickets on the foam discs to create the second cake tier. Wrap ribbons around the tickets to secure in place.

Add a lucky penny onto the printable tag and tape the tag onto a paper straw. You may also add additional high value lottery tickets along with this tag. Insert into the foam disc top.

Insert additional artificial flowers or decorations in the top of the foam disc to cover the surface, as desired.

Voila! Your Lottery Ticket Cake is complete! The cake base materials cost me all of $5 to make and now I have a unique and impactful way to gift the chance to win big with the New Jersey Lottery!

I actually made two cakes and plan to give them to my dad and father-in-law. Not only will they be enjoying the fun of their scratch off lottery tickets on the cake, but I am also sneaking in some goodies inside the plastic tub. Together this is a stress free gift full of entertainment and snacks! What dad wouldn’t love this?!

Lottery Ticket Cake Teacher Appreciation Gift

If you have been following Giggles Galore for a while it should come as no surprise that I love creating fun, clever, and tasty Teacher Appreciation gifts. Over the years I have made several projects to celebrate our teachers. Some of them, like my Teacher Appreciation Helping Me Grow Flower Pot, continue to be some of my most popular posts. Which, means you guys love Teacher Appreciation week too…that or you are desperate for easy last minute gift ideas your teacher will love. Don’t sweat it y’all, I’ve teamed up with FloraCraft to show you how to make this super easy Lottery Ticket Cake Teacher Appreciation Gift.

When it comes to teachers, ours take the cake! We have been lucky to be blessed with such amazing, caring, and fun teachers. So this year we are celebrating our teachers in a big way, with a lucky Lottery Ticket Cake. Just like the recent no bake candy cake I made, I’m using my favorite FloraCraft® Styrofoam® Cake Form in two different sizes.

What You Will Need:

  • FloraCraft® Styrofoam® Cake Form
  • Multi-surface glue dots
  • $30-40 in lottery tickets
  • Small straight pins
  • Ribbon
  • Scrapbook Paper
  • Bamboo skewer
  • Free Lucky Lottery Teacher Appreciation Printables and You Take the Cake Teacher Appreciation Printables
  • Mini cake

Step 1:

Purchase lottery tickets. I am the room mom for my daughter’s class and we collected donations for this class gift. I asked each student to donate $1-2 dollars and used the money to purchase a bunch of lottery tickets.

Step 2:

Trace your cake form on a piece of scrapbook paper and cut it out. Use the multi-surface glue dots to attach the scrapbook paper to the top of each cake form.

Step 3:

Next, it’s time to start assembling your lottery cake. Start with the bottom layer and use the bigger lottery tickets. Use the small straight pins to pin the lottery ticket to the cake form. I used pins in each of the corners and layered the lottery tickets to minimize the number of pins needed.

Step 4:

Move on to the second layer of the cake and start “frosting” it with the remaining lottery tickets.

Step 5:

Once you have covered all of the cake form with the lottery tickets it’s time to “frost” the tops with the cut out scrapbook paper. Now, it’t time to add the pieces together. I simply ran a small dab of hot glue, on the lowest temperature setting, around the bottom of the smaller cake form. Place it on top of the bigger cake and hold in place until secure. I wrapped ribbon around the top layer to hide the seams of the layered lottery tickets.

Step 6:

Place a mini cake on top for the final layer, and an extra sweet treat for your teacher.

Step 7:

Download, print and cut out the free teacher appreciation tags. Attach them to the back of a bamboo stick and insert into the cake form.

In less than 15 minutes you will have a fun teacher appreciation gift to celebrate your favorite teacher. I feel so lucky to have such amazing teachers for my children and I hope that they get a little bit of luck and win big with this gift.
