Mega Millions lottery: Did you win Friday’s $159M Mega Millions drawing? Live results, winning numbers (04/17/2020)

The Mega Millions jackpot for Friday’s lottery drawing has jumped to $159 million with a cash option of $125.7 million.

The winning numbers were: 13, 35, 39, 46 and 55. The Mega Ball drawn was 14 with a Megaplier of 4X.

No one across the country won Tuesday’s $145 million jackpot. There were also no second-prize, $1 million tickets sold nationally

In New Jersey, 10 tickets across the state matched four numbers. Eight are worth $500 apiece, while two are valued at $2,000 apiece because they were bought with the Megaplier option for an extra $1.

Tuesday’s winning numbers were: 29, 47, 65, 69 and 70. The Mega Ball drawn was 7 with a Megaplier of 4X.

It’s been more than two months since a $202 million jackpot winning ticket was bought at Quick Stop on Inman Avenue in Edison for the Feb. 11 drawing. The winner has yet to step forward and will have the option of remaining anonymous thanks to a new law passed in New Jersey earlier this year.

There have been two large multi-state jackpots won in Middlesex County this year. On April 8, someone who bought a Powerball ticket at Buy-Rite Liquors on Stelton Road in neighboring Piscataway won a $190 million jackpot.

Mega Millions tickets cost $2 each and in New Jersey must be bought by 10:45 p.m. on the evening of the drawing. The odds of a ticket hitting the jackpot by matching five numbers and the Mega Ball are 302,575,350 to 1. Players have a 1 in 12,607,306 shot to win the second prize of at least $1 million by matching five numbers.

Mega Millions is played in 45 states, Washington D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The New Jersey Lottery office in Lawrence will be closed until at least May 15 due to COVID-19 and won’t be accepting walk-in claims. You can still claim your winnings — provided they’re less than $599.50 — in person at any retailer.

The lottery is also accepting mailed claims, though officials warn payments might be temporarily delayed. Winners are advised to make copies of the claim form and the winning ticket for their records.

The expiration date for all claims set to expire between March 19 and May 15 has been extended for an additional 30 days from the date of the office opening. For example, a winning ticket that was purchased on March 31, 2019 would normally expire a year later — on March 31, 2020. Due to the extension, the claim in this example will not expire until June 15, 2020. The expiration date of winning tickets might later be extended again.
