A holiday tradition paid off for Matt and Angie McKenzie of York County after Matt purchased a New Year’s Millionaire Raffle ticket at the Rutter’s at 1425 Seven Valley Road in North Codorus Township.
“I always try to buy at least one or two Millionaire Raffle tickets every year. Outside of that, I don’t gamble,” Matt McKenzie said.
“It’s a thrill. You always think this could never happen and. it did,” he said just before receiving the check from lottery officials.

Lottery commission officials, Chris Hartman from Rutter’s, and family and friends were on hand Monday for the reveal of the big check.
Angie, who works in retail, and Matt, who is an auditor, said that they both have good jobs and are financially comfortable at the moment.
Matt’s advice to future lottery winners is, “be smart about it and get a financial planner.”
