The RAF Sports Lottery is the only resource that we have to generate long term income for the RAF Central Fund charity to support access to sport in the RAF.

In 2018 the Central Fund has committed to funding ยฃ2.4 million towards sport across the Service.

The RAF Sports Lottery is open to serving and former serving RAF personnel. With some of the best odds of winning in the UK, you could win up to ยฃ10,000 each week, even with just one ticket (ยฃ1 per week). To sign up, please visit the website www.rafcf.org.uk

As has become tradition here at RAF Honington, our youngest Airman, LAC Rhys Taylor (17) of 1 Sqn RAF Regiment joined the Station Commander and the SWO this week to switch on the Christmas tree lights at the front of SHQ. ๐ŸŽ„

He was lucky enough to get a mince pie and a swig of warm punch too.

Congratulations go to the 17 members of TG 2-20, El Alamein Flight; the newest members of the RAF Regiment to have graduated here at foggy RAF Honington today.

Reviewing Officer Wing Commander Stephen Turner said: โ€œI am delighted to welcome the graduating Gunners of TG 2-20, El Alamein Flight into the RAF Regiment today. To succeed in phase 2 training requires uncompromising levels of field-proficiency, teamwork and determination, in preparation for the rigours of operational service. The Coronavirus pandemic has added to the challenges of an already demanding course, confirming the ability of these young men to prevail, through adversity. I am particularly pleased to welcome those family members and friends who have attended the graduation today, albeit virtually, from the relative safety of their own homes. The graduating Gunners should feel justifiably proud of their achievement, and the contributions they will make in the coming weeks and months, in support to the Nationโ€™s priorities.โ€

On graduating from this course, the Leading Aircraftmen are posted to either 1 Sqn RAF Regt here at RAF Honington, 34 Sqn RAF Regt (RAF Leeming), 51 Sqn RAF Regt (RAF Lossiemouth), or 63 Sqn RAF Regt (Royal Air Force Northolt), whereby they will be trained to such a level that they can immediately commence Mission Specific Training for contingency operations.

We wish them all the best in their new careers. ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ‘
