Angry employee throws bingo computer during game at Trinity High School

GARFIELD HTS.

ASSAULT, GRANGER ROAD: A game of bingo got out of hand Sunday when a participant threw one of the computers.

The woman said she was playing bingo at Trinity High School when she had a problem with her bingo computer unit. She went to the computer desk and spoke to an employee about the malfunctioning computer.

The employee got frustrated and threw the computer unit in the woman’s direction. It didn’t hit her but she said the employee meant to hit her with it.

SUSPICIOUS PERSONS, BRIARCLIFF DRIVE: An owner of a residence in town was sitting on her porch with her dog, Friday, when a man came up and asked her to walk to the back of her house to look at some damage caused by a recent storm.

She refused to leave the porch and another man came up and also asked her to walk to the side of the house. She refused again and they left in a black van with no windows on the side.

The woman said they were wearing work clothes. They didn’t get inside her home but she said she thinks the men were trying to lure her away from the front so one of the men could get inside the house.

FELONIOUS ASSAULT, THORNHURST AVENUE: Sick of all the women fighting, a man tried to kick someone in a car and was dragged down the street and partially run over.

The man was visiting his mom June 22 when his ex-girlfriend and mother of his child stopped by. The mom and the ex-girlfriend got into an argument and the ex-girlfriend left.

Soon after, a carload of women came to the house. Two got out of the car and began verbally fighting with the mother. The son said his ex-girlfriend was mad because he had another girl over visiting his mother. They left and another car, this time a small tan car, came back with more women. They began arguing with the mother.

The son was angry with all the girls so he walked over to the passenger side back door of the car and tried to kick the passenger. When he kicked at her, the woman grabbed him and drove off dragging him alongside the car.

As they approached East 136th Street, he was able to free himself and the car drove partially over his leg.

There was a large and deep abrasion on his entire left calf, a cut on his left hand, left thigh and left elbow and a cut on his right foot.

CONCEALED WEAPON, TURNEY ROAD: A grandmother was just trying to get out of the driveway when the grandchild’s father threatened her with a weapon.

Grandmother was driving to her grandchild’s house when the father pulled in behind her. He was asked to move his car, so grandma could leave. An argument started and grandma backed out, driving over the grass to get by his car.

The father pulled up his shirt and put his hand on a gun. When the mother came home, the grandmother told her what happened and she told police she didn’t want him on the property with a firearm.

The gun was taken into evidence along with two folding knives almost four inches long.

The father said he thought the grandma was going to run him down with her car so he grabbed for the gun for safety.
