Powerball ticket worth $150K sold at N.J. Wawa store
A Wawa convenience store in Atlantic County sold a $150,000 Powerball ticket for Wednesday’s drawing.
The lucky ticket was bought at the Wawa on Shore Road in Somers Point, New Jersey lottery officials said Thursday.
The ticket matched four numbers plus the Powerball and the buyer spent an extra $1 for the Power Play option, tripling the standard $50,000 prize.
Wednesday’s winning numbers were: 37, 43, 44, 45 and 53. The Power Ball drawn was 25 with a Power Play of 3X.
The odds of a $2 ticket matching four numbers and the Powerball are 913,129 to 1.
No one hit the $40 million jackpot across the country, pushing the top prize for Saturday’s drawing to an estimated $50 million with a cash option of $34.6 million. There were also no $1 million tickets sold.
The odds of hitting the Powerball jackpot are 292,201,388 to 1. It’s a 1 in 11,688,053 chance to match five numbers and win at least $1 million with a single ticket.
Powerball is played on Wednesday and Saturday in 44 states, Washington D.C., the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.
